The Virtual Assistant Forums — an online Virtual Assistant community has started a new Lending Group at Kiva.org. The lending group is open to all Virtual Assistants.
Just go to just go to http://www.kiva.org/community/viewTeam?team_id=2195 to view the Group page and click the ‘Join Team’ link – you will be directed to a page where you can register if you’re new to Kiva or log in if you’re already a member.
Whenever you make a micro-lending contribution through Kiva you can choose to do so as part of the Virtual Assistant Forums Llending group!
Here is some more of what the Virtual Assistant Forums had to say:
“Did you know that every single dollar you donate is RETURNED to you when the loan recipient pays the funds back!!
Some of our members have already made a number of loans through Kiva to entrepreneurs all over the world, often in the third world, and have already seen some of those funds repaid so that they could loan out that same $25 or $50 to another growing business in an impoverished area across the globe.”
Thank you!
Darlene

I love to read. If you are a regular listener of my podcast, that shouldn’t be news to you. I have decided to share my love for reading and for books with the rest of the world. I am happy to announce that the very first episode of A Virtual Perception’s Book Byte is now ready for your listening pleasure.
I will be doing the Book Byte episodes every week or so. If you have a book you would like me to review please send me the title of the book, the author and any other pertinent information I need (eBook authors, this means you too) . The more books I have a chance to look over and read, the more often Book Bytes will be released. Send your Book Byte review suggestions to: avp@mypodcastharmony.com
Happy Listening and Reading!

The latest episode of A Virtual Perception is now available for listening. I had a lot of fun putting this podcast together, so much so I was inspired to launch a brand new podcast. I reveal that piece of news and more in the episode.
Also, I am so very happy to reveal A Virtual Perception’s new home — here at: http://www.mypodcastharmony.com/avp. The blog on WordPress.com will continue to be updated, but the website is going to be where the real action happens. I wanted to create a website specifically so I can showcase my featured guests in a way they deserve and have the ease of adding and updating content.
You may also notice the main domain A Virtual Perception is now home to: mypodcastharmony.com. My Podcast Harmony is a new podcast directory website I am launching. With My Podcast Harmony, you will be able to submit your virtual business podcasts for inclusion in the directory. As the user base builds and directory grows, I will continue to add more content and functions to the site.
Thanks for listening!
Darlene Victoria

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month. According the the Susan G. Komen website, there are an estimated 182,460 new cases of breast cancer expected for the year 2008. Take the time to learn the facts about breast cancer today. My mother is a breast cancer survivor and by regularly seeing her doctor and follow-up visits my mother’s cancer was caught early on. She is in remission and doing great!
If you have a virtual business and have a website, bring attention to Breast Cancer Awareness this month and Go Pink (www.pinkforoctober.org).
