The latest episode of A Virtual Perception is now available for listening. I had a lot of fun putting this podcast together, so much so I was inspired to launch a brand new podcast. I reveal that piece of news and more in the episode.

Also, I am so very happy to reveal A Virtual Perception’s new home — here at: http://www.mypodcastharmony.com/avp. The blog on WordPress.com will continue to be updated, but the website is going to be where the real action happens. I wanted to create a website specifically so I can showcase my featured guests in a way they deserve and have the ease of adding and updating content.

You may also notice the main domain A Virtual Perception is now home to: mypodcastharmony.com. My Podcast Harmony is a new podcast directory website I am launching. With My Podcast Harmony, you will be able to submit your virtual business podcasts for inclusion in the directory. As the user base builds and directory grows, I will continue to add more content and functions to the site.

Thanks for listening!

Go Pink for October.

October 11, 2008

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month. According the the Susan G. Komen website, there are an estimated 182,460 new cases of breast cancer expected for the year 2008. Take the time to learn the facts about breast cancer today. My mother is a breast cancer survivor and by regularly seeing her doctor and follow-up visits my mother’s cancer was caught early on. She is in remission and doing great!

If you have a virtual business and have a website, bring attention to Breast Cancer Awareness this month and Go Pink (www.pinkforoctober.org).

A New Look!

October 9, 2008

You may notice that A Virtual Perception’s blog has a new look. I am actually in the processing of designing a second home for the podcast. I want to be able to better control how the accompanying content looks and feels. I especially want to be able to feature my podcast guests on a page that looks really snazzy and showcases them in a way they deserve.  So, keep an eye out for that.

Also, be sure to check out my upcoming podcast which airs on Oct. 12th. The podcast is going to be jam packed with all things inspirational and motivational. I will feature two very inspirational interviews, amongst other things. So, check it out!

Have a virtually perceptive day! ; )

September 20, 2008

I am currently on the hunt for business owners that have unique and inspiring stories. My next podcast, scheduled for October 12th, is going to be all about inspiration and motivation.

If you are shy or just don’t have the time to actually do an interview for the podcast. That is ok! I still want to hear from you. Send me your story (or a story of someone you think is inspiring and/or motivating). I will then highlight the story as part of my podcast — the best part. You get free publicity! I will be sure to include your name and business URL on the show. Don’t delay — the deadline is October 6th. Send your stories to avirtualperception@gmail.com

Here it is. Episode Number 7. This episode features…me. I am a bit nervous about sharing it with you, but I can’t start being shy now! So, on with the show…

—-

The seventh episode (wow, episode SEVEN!) features an interview with Darlene of D. Victoria Virtual Assistance. Pat sat down and spoke with Darlene about why she began her virtual assistant business, a challenge she recently has overcome and a few other topics. Later in the episode Darlene interviews two young entrepreneurs in the making!

My mind is always churning and coming up with new ideas for future podcast episodes. Recently, I have seen a trend in which new entrepreneurs are not portraying themselves or their business in a professional manner.  I would love to talk more about this topic and provide some educational information for new and established businesses.

Some of the items I would like to explore on this topic are: Preparing a Code of Ethics (what it is and why you should have one), what confidentiality means (to you and to your clients) and tips on how to be professional, especially in a home based business environment.

If you would like to share your thoughts, your tips and tricks on this subject  Please contact me: avirtualperception@gmail.com.
Thank you!

Inspiration and Motivation

August 30, 2008

Inspiration and motivation. These are two words that have a different meaning for each and everyone of us. What inspires and motivates you the most?

I have said this before, but I am one that is easy to inspire. Whether it is a book I just read, a movie I had seen or witnessing a simple act of kindness, I can become inspired.

My motivation comes from somewhere else. My life, my experiences and my goals for the future; are all things that motivate me. What motivates me the most is setting a goal and getting to that end result. Like a runner in a marathon. I have to get to the finish line, no matter what! Perhaps that is why I am sitting here in my office, on a Saturday morning, working?

Anyhow, I am digressing. The point of this post is to find out what inspires you and motivates you the most? Also, I would love to have a future podcast about this topic. Perhaps ways to find inspiration and motivation (let’s face it, some days, each and everyone of us could use a muse — yes, even easy to inspire me!). So, if you are a motivational speaker, business coach or just someone that has a unique take on this topic, drop me a line.

Thank you and have a nice Labor Day Weekend!

Darlene
