It is Virtual Assistant Week at Connecting2Give.com!

March 16, 2009

Virtual Assistant Week at Connecting2Give is here!

What  is Connecting2Give? As explained on the Connecting2Give website: “Connecting2Give is about connecting people with needs to those who can fulfill those needs, and encouraging them to connect on a deeper level than that of just someone who shipped off a box, or sent an email.”

Gwynne, a Virtual Assistant, is the founder behind this awesome web movement.  Gwynne has decided to feature businesses that give of themselves to the community at large.  It was an obvious choice then for Gwynne to chose to highlight the Virtual Assistant Forums. The Virtual Assistant Forums is a free online community full of resources and supportive members. It was actually where I gathered much of the information needed for forming my business.

Today kicks off a week-long series of Virtual Assistant Week giveaways. I had the opportunity to interview Gwynne, as well as, several authors who donated their books to this giveaway event.

Listen to my interviews and  learn more about the authors and Gwynne, the founder of Connecting2Give by visiting the following web page: http://mypodcastharmony.com/avp/c2g.html

Episode 14 Released

March 1, 2009

Episode 14 Released
Giving Back

I have been a virtual assistant for over a year now and I have noticed a common trait amongst many Virtual Assistants. Virtual Assistants seem to be involved in one type of project or another. Whether that project is helping out another virtual assistant or pitching in with a project in their local community, a virtual assistant always seems to be there to lend a helping hand. Gwynne of The 25th Hour VA is one of those Virtual Assistants. Her project Connecting2Give is still pretty new, but it has the makings of becoming something truly awesome.

In this episode I talk to Gwynne about her project to find out what it is and what she hopes it will accomplish in the future. Gwynne also reveals details about an upcoming giveaway event with Virtual Assistant Forums!

A Virtual Perception on iTunes?

February 18, 2009

From time to time I get very nice emails from Virtual Assistants who listen to my podcast. I wanted to personally thank them for their messages – they really mean a lot. Every so often, I also get a comment or a question. Recently, I received a very nice email from a Virtual Assistant who not only had some very nice things to say, but had a question for me that I thought I would address.

Sharon Rosen of Intelafina asked: “Are your podcasts available through iTunes? I searched the other day and couldn’t find them. I’d love to subscribe via iTunes if they are. I look forward to more podcasts!”

Thank you Sharon for your question!

I am very happy and excited to announce that A Virtual Perception is now on iTunes! You can subscribe, download and listen to podcasts via the iTunes Store. Listeners can also submit a review of the podcast. Simply search for A Virtual Perception in the iTunes Store.

Thank you Sharon for your email and your questions. I love to hear from listeners of my podcast, it  is nice to know you are out there!

If you have a question or comment please feel free to contact me at: avp(at)mypodcastharmony.com. Thank you for listening!

Darlene

February 4, 2009

Are you prepared for the upcoming tax filing season? In the 12th episode of A Virtual Perception, I speak with Rebecka Melson of Virtual Business Services – a virtual assistant company that provides bookkeeping and financial management services to small businesses. Rebecka always provides such valuable tax and financial information on the Virtual Assistant Forums, and she does so in a way that isn’t confusing.

In my interview with Rebecka, we will discuss such things as whether to prepare your taxes yourself or hire a professional, the explanation of what 1099 and W9 forms are, as well as, the different types of business entities you can form — like Sole Proprietorship or Limited Liability Company. We also discuss the ever popular topic of deductions and the possibility of being audited!
